What is the difference between printed and embroidered clothing?
PRINTED clothing is exactly what it sounds like: a blank garment with an image or message printed onto it. There are a several ways to do this; here at Class Workwear, we offer direct-to-garment printing as well as vinyl transfer printing. (Both of these printing methods have their own advantages and limitations, but let's not get sidetracked right now - that's another topic for another time.)
If you choose to have your clothing EMBROIDERED, your logo will be stitched onto each garment using durable coloured threads. Not by hand, of course; our state-of-the-art embroidery machines allow us to produce large numbers of high-quality embroidered garments in a very short timeframe.
Embroidered or printed - which is better?
That depends on what exactly you want from your branded clothing.
For example, if you want a jacket or polo shirt with your company's logo on the breast, embroidery is a cost-effective choice that will result in a very professional-looking finish. The embroidered logo will look very professional, and it will also be highly durable, standing up to years of wearing and washing.
However, if you want to decorate your garments with a larger logo or image, printing is probably the way to go. Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing technology makes it simple to print intricate, colourful designs onto T-shirts and other garments. Printing is likely to be the more economical choice if you're looking to produce a large number of branded products, e.g. hundreds of T-shirts to give away at a promotional event.
